In the summer, symptoms related to varicose veins tend to increase. This is due to the rise in pressure within the veins.

Additionally, as body temperature increases, blood is reflexively directed from the center to the superficial veins.

To reduce varicose vein-related complaints, I recommend the following;

Avoid sunbathing in very hot weather

  • Avoid sunbathing in very hot weather
  • Drink at least 2.5 liters of water daily
  • Walk and swim during the cooler hours of the day
  • After shower, wash your legs with cold water
  • Wear compression stockings during long journeys

If possible, elevate your legs above heart level for 15 minutes, 2-3 times a day to rest

These are the recommendations.
